I have no shame in saving a buck or two on products that are just as superb as (and sometimes even better than) their high-end competitors! I wanted to start a new series on the blog in honor of that and share with you guys the drugstore products whose value I feel totally surpasses the monetary one given them.
I figured starting off with my favorite two shades of Milani Baked Blushes would be a great way to kick off the series! I mean, really, just look at how gorgeous these are…
Both are absolutely stunning, apply effortlessly, and retail anywhere from $5 to $12! I never feel like I have to keep dipping my brush in the product for the color to be seen unlike what I’ve experienced with other drugstore blushes. If I want a light wash on my cheeks of either of them, it is very visible yet sheer enough to look natural and glowy.
I first purchased these beauties about two years ago. Ever since then, they have become year-round essentials in my make-up bag! I was never big on applying blush. My day-to-day makeup routine consisted of a bronzed smokey-eye, eyeliner, mascara, and foundation but since experimenting with different day to day looks and finding these, one of the pair is used with every look.
First, I should probably mention that I have medium/light skin. Skin tone is a pretty big deciding factor when finding highlighters/blushes/bronzers that work for me, so I definitely did my fair share of research on which baked blush I should try first.
Luminoso (the blush pictured above) was one of the shades I kept seeing high reviews about when researching the different shades Milani offers. I am so glad I purchased it because Luminoso is just that; beautifully luminous!
I fell in love with the fact that it offers such a natural peachy looking glow perfect for any season. I can’t lie, at first I bought it thinking spring and summer would be the only seasons I would really wear it- but now I wear it anytime I’m feeling like going after a no-makeup, makeup look or just want more of a natural glow!
Because these baked blushes are so pigmented, a little goes a long way. This serves to be extremely beneficial in the long run because there is so much blush in the packaging that Milani baked blushes are pretty long-lasting.
If I had to pick a favorite out of the two, hands down it would be Belissimo Bronze. I use this one the most, mostly to add a nice natural looking contour. During the summer though, this blush is my best friend. It has proven to be useful for every kind of tan and even aid in glamorizing sunburns (but that’s a completely different post..)!
Needless to say, Belissimo Bronze is amazing! It’s hard to find bronze-like drugstore blushes that don’t have an orange tint to them and Belissimo Bronze doesn’t fit in that category at all. It is the most easily blendable, natural looking drugstore bronzer I’ve had!
Although I forgot to get pictures of it, each of these blushes comes with a mirror and a small blush brush. Yes, within the compact baked blushes you see here- I kid you not. Call me naive, but I actually didn’t even know about it until about a month after I bought them.
I dropped one on the floor and instead of opening my tightly closed eyes to see blush all over the floor, I found that the rim of the blush was actually carrying the blush. Flipped over, there is a little compartment that holds the tiny blush brush and on the underside of the blush: a mirror!
Milani’s Baked Blushes come in a total of 11 different gorgeous-looking shades and are available for purchase either at your local drugstore or, you could help a girl out via using my affiliate links!(:
