I received my first VoxBox complimentary via Influenster (if you are a beauty addict or just enjoy free things in general, you should sign up!! It’s amazing.) at the end of December 2017 after having a profile with Influenster for a good year, year and a half. A cool milestone to reach just in time for the new year if I do say so myself. *wink wink*
Now if you follow me on Instagram, you might be saying “finallyyyyyy!” because I was so excited when I got the products, I posted about them as soon as I possibly could (that was back in December..). I mean, in a sense, you’re right. This review is sort of overdue from a chronological standpoint but if we look at it from a testing period standpoint… I’m actually right on time (;
I wanted to wait a little to write and publish a review for each one to allow myself a proper trial period and assessment of each rather than simply writing a speedy review about how “great” both products are after a single use. I had all of Janurary to lather in both products and have been using them ever since so…
How Did It Go??
St.Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter Soothing Body Lotion
The first product I tried was the Oatmeal and Shea Butter body lotion. I have normal, sensitive, and combination skin (which makes for the absolute worst combination on some days) and so the prime time for putting on body lotion (for me at least) is probably the second after taking a shower.
The first time I used it, I immediately noted that the consistency of the lotion wasn’t too thick but also not too watery so lathering felt very smooth and like my skin just soaked it right up. Every single use was the same way, it absorbed into the skin very well and left a light but noticeable brown sugar-y scent. Afterwards, my skin felt SO soft and smooth and it stayed that way! It didn’t leave behind any kind of oily or sticky feeling like a lot of body lotions tend to.
St. Ives Acai, Blueberry, and Chia Seed Oil Revitalizing Body Lotion
If you are looking for a lotion to use during the summer time, I would definitely recommend this one. Firstly, the scent is wonderful. It makes you smell like you just took a shower in a tropical oasis. It certainly doesn’t overpower your senses though, as this lotion is just as subtle in smell as the Oatmeal and Shea Butter Lotion. After use, you smell refreshed.
Secondly, the lotion absorbed into the skin effortlessly and completely, leaving the skin feeling smooth and supple after every use! I definitely noticed a subtle vibrant glow to my skin after a few uses which was an amazing thing to discover in a lotion for a someone with sensitive skin. Whether or not this lotion is just as moisturizing as the Oatmeal and Shea Butter one depends on how well your skin reacts to butters versus how well it responds to oils. My skin favors butters more than anything so the Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion did more moisturizing for me than the Acai butter did.
Overall VoxBox Review
I loved this box! Both lotions are perfect for those with sensitive, normal to combination skin. If you’re working out or just out and about on a hot day, either lotion is a great go-to since it doesn’t compound your sweat in making you feel sticky and oily like many lotions tend to. Should you struggle with any type of body scarring, I wouldn’t say either lotion is strong enough to diminish the issues, but both are good to use in order to prevent or hinder future issues.
Which of these products do you think you could benefit from the most?
