Being homeschooled throughout high school, I learned that sometimes the environment you work in can have an effect on how efficiently you operate. There were days when I woke up with this super productive, kick-butt attitude and the minute I started doing any load of work, boom. Energy gone. Just a few hours into the day and I’d be dragging my feet through the hours ahead of me.
If you work at home, you know the feeling. When you have complete control of your time and your workload, but no one around you, it’s easy to lose momentum. I started to turn to YouTube for “Work with Me” video’s to have a little motivation as I worked through my assignments and when I did, I ended up discovering channels that offered really neat, uplifting lifestyle videos:
If you find yourself in a rut, try taking a peek at these channels for a boost of productive energy.
You have to be careful when offering motivating content from a “look at what I did” or “watch me” perspective in order to keep from seeming conceited. Kalyn offers this kind of content in such a way that doesn’t give this impression at all but rather gets you up and moving with her. Her videos cover a variety of lifestyle related things, but I would say the main overall theme is living a healthy, happy, and generally organized life.
If you are in college or taking some sort of educational course and appreciate study groups, you might like this channel. All it is made up of is a series of live study with me video’s. These video’s can be played in the background as you do whatever work you have to do. Some videos have music accompanying them and some don’t, so you are free to choose whatever works for you in the moment.
Another productivity focused YouTube channel, but with less of a focus on making the video pretty and more focus on the methods, tools, tricks, and tips you can use to be the most productive person you can be. Thomas Frank aims his videos at college students and entrepreneurs, every video offering unique advice for either or.
I love the style of Lavendaire’s videos. Like Kaelyn’s channel, they are consistently the same upbeat, positive theme. Lavendaire as a whole channel covers lifestyle, design, food, and more. My personal favorites from lavendaire are, of course, her success videos. She covers vision boards, journaling, planning, advice for creatives, routines, and more!
Alexis aka Miss Trenchcoat
I found this YouTube channel when looking for video’s on planning advice and Miss Trenchcoat offers this and awesome advice for creatives. Her focus is more towards discussing planning systems and how to choose what works for you, but she always manages to add in helpful advice for entrepreneurs and creatives.
