What Happened in 2018?

I started 2018 with high hopes and a bunch of goals for the blog. Little did I know that in the year ahead of me, I would meet challenges that would cause me to sink into introspection rather than explode with creative expression, as I preferred. I didn’t leave 2018 completely void of uploaded posts, however, I surely wanted to post more often and more consistently than I did.

Throughout the year, I would learn what self-love actually means and how separate it is from selfishness or vanity. I also noticed how I was able to achieve my major goals for the year, like buying my first car, landing a freelance job, and getting to travel to a city I’ve never been to, by staying committed to achieving my goals with God’s provision & blessing.

The one thing that really stood out to me about 2018 is that I talked a lot about what I wanted or would do with this blog and the posts and yatta yatta yatta. I talked a lot, but, barely anything actually came to fruition. This really disappointed me in the end, just because I hate to be that girl; the one who has plenty to say but barely does what she says she’ll do.

This year, rather than naming all of the goals, visions, and hopes I have for 2019- I am going to attempt to live out a good-ol’ tried and true mantra; Don’t talk about it, be about it.

That goes for this blog and pretty much everything else in my life. While I am not going to divulge all of my plans for 2019, I can say that I am excited for what the year ahead will contain and can’t wait to continue to share my journey with you guys!

Do you have a mantra that you are aiming to live by this year? Leave it in the comments below!
