Hey there! I’m Courtney 🙂
If you are one of this blog’s day one’s, you know that this is just about the 20 billionth time I have written/edited an about page for this blog… (I cringe a little inside as I write that >.<). Truth is, I find it hard to sum myself up in just a few short sentences… and I’m quite surprised it is so easy for others to do so.
I feel that we are all constantly growing, evolving, and discovering different parts of ourselves as life unravels us. So instead of telling you about who I am today, I’ll tell you about how my particular path has lead me here.
I started this blog
right after I had decided to go through with “the big chop”. For those of you who aren’t familiar with that term, it’s a term used to describe the cutting off of all of one’s (normally damaged) hair in an attempt to grow it all back as healthy as possible. I’d reached this point in my life where I was tired of always altering myself to better fit my own preconceived idea of what beauty really looked like… which until that point, wasn’t me.
Thinking this blog would be my sort of self-love and acceptance despite social norms/hair journey diary; I named it “The Curly Anomaly”. I didn’t intend the name to be a self endowed nickname for myself, but as I wrote/grew more and my main topics began to evolve into what they are today, I realized that it unintentionally became so.
So welcome to “The Curly Anomaly”!
A lifestyle blog created by an evergrowing twenty-something journeying through adulthood, unveiling newfound parts of herself in the process. I hope you can enjoy what you find here. Grab a nice warm cup of coffee and feel free to explore the many lessons, tips, and tricks shared here on The Curly Anomaly.
