April Favorite’s Playlist

April Favorite’s Playlist

If you took a look at my Spotify, you’d see a billion different playlists. I probably make about three every month and they are the most random accumulation of songs. One day I’ll hear a really pretty wedding-worthy love song and that’ll inspire me to make a playlist of really pretty wedding-worthy songs. Then months go by and I still haven’t added to the playlist because how rarely do wedding-worthy songs actually come out?? Exactly. In the midst of the waiting, I’ll create other playlists that I add to more frequently. Each with its own general vibe.

As I was on the road to Dallas, I was flipping through radio stations (which I rarely listen to anymore) and stumbled on a few songs that I actually really like! Hence I just decided to place everything I heard that I liked in one “on the road” playlist: Continue reading “April Favorite’s Playlist”

My Fall Playlist

My Fall Playlist

We are officially in the fall season as of yesterday and I couldn’t be more excited for everything it comes with! Bring on the pumpkin spice aromas and fall inspired lattes! One of the things I especially love about fall is the mornings. I don’t know if it’s just my mind playing tricks on me, but I feel like the air of a fall morning seems so crisp and clear.

It is always slightly chilly so when I get out of bed the first thing I do is reach for a sweater and some house slippers. Typically, when I get dressed for the day I play some music and fall mornings are no exception of course! Here are a few songs that are not only the cherry on top to what I envision a perfect fall morning to be, but for a perfect fall in general:  Continue reading “My Fall Playlist”

Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Review + My Top 5 Fav Songs from the Album

Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Review + My Top 5 Fav Songs from the Album

I have to admit, before the release of Hopeless Fountain Kingdom I wouldn’t identify as a Halsey fan. For some reason I found myself confusing her sound with Tove Lo’s because I believed both artists recorded music that was too distinct from mainstream pop melodies to be entrancing just yet.

I believe the only songs I liked off of Halsey’s previous album Badlands was Control, Ghost (mainstream, I know *rolls eyes*), and New Americana. I barely listened to them, but I knew that out of the entire album those were the only one’s I enjoyed enough to listen to on my own.

Hopeless Fountain Kingdom really took me by surprise. It’s very rare that I find an album containing more than two songs I love, and this album was a nice exception. I love the Angels vs. Demons theme she decided to go with since the songs are very much aligned with that kind of struggle. Her voice, as distinct as it is, is accompanied by beats that really accentuate it! No, I am not exactly obsessed with every song but the ones listed here are the ones that I can’t help but play on repeat!

HALSEY

Favorite #1: Now or Never

The first song I heard from Hopeless Fountain Kingdom was Now or Never and as I inclined my ear to it, I thought “This is so dope.”. So congrats to this song for not only being the most played song on the album, but making me curious enough to look up the album.

That brought me to discovering my next favorite…

Favorite #2: Eyes Closed

Her voice + this beat = perfection. Little did I know that this single was released before the album itself. I believe Now or Never was released as a single before the album was released as well, I just didn’t know 😛

On to number three…

Favorite #3: Hopeless feat. Cashmere Cat

I think I might… I MIGHT… be in the beginning stages of becoming a fan of Cashmere Cat. If you read my last music post, you know that I really enjoyed the songs on his album. I felt like I wouldn’t be disappointed with this collab when I clicked on the song and surely I wasn’t!

And now for the more upbeat favorites..

Favorite #4: Alone

This song is too adorable. I honestly don’t have much to say about it except that it’s fire and every time I hear it I’m dancing &/or singing along!

Finally, my last favorite is… drumroll please…

Favorite #5: Walls Could Talk

“And I’m thinking _ if these walls could talk *hit em with the beat*” ;P

Hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as I did making it!

Which songs are your favorites off of the album? If this is your first time hearing of it, what do you think of the songs mentioned?

Chill Playlist

Chill Playlist

I created this playlist after listening to Cashmere Cat’s newest album, 9– which I love! The songs on the album are so different from the everyday music. 9 features artists such as Ariana Grande, Ty Dolla $ign, and Khalid and well… as you can see… I love the way the songs they are featured on were orchestrated to tailor to their individual musical styles.

I originally intended this playlist to be one I fall asleep to, but sometime’s I’ll use it as a cool down playlist after a workout or something to play while I study.

Enjoy!
