I am in love with the sprinkles of pink I’ve seen in fall fashion lately! I am not obsessed with the color, but I do like to play around with it from time to time. When it comes to casual shoes, I rarely experiment with colors that aren’t neutral however, I have been feeling the need to liberate myself from that box this fall with these adorable pink shoes from Shoetopia!
If you live in Texas, you know the heat doesn’t rest for any season. There are days that feel more season appropriate than others, sometimes even weeks, but the general feel is the same: it’s hot. Continue reading “Pumpkin Patching in the Heat- Wearing Denim”
As much as I love coffee, I barely frequent coffee shops. I am well aware of how empty my pockets would be if I visited coffee shops as frequently as I crave coffee, so I have learned to make most of the drinks I love at home. When I do go out for coffee, I look forward to the boost of productivity I typically get from the atmosphere. You’re very likely to find someone typing away on a laptop or reading the newspaper. Something about seeing other people in their own zone of focus encourages me to really hone in on my own.
In this small outing to the coffee shop, I wore warmer, more neutral tones. The embroidered off-shoulder blouse just screams vintage, so I paired it with something that would highlight the blouse by being just as vintage looking in the wedges. I love wearing wedges when I know I might have to do some walking but still want to dress it up just a tad more than I would by wearing a typical sandal. Because of the textures and tones in the embroidery, I just had to pair it with some blue jeans and tie it all together with my A1 bag: the classic Brown Cross body bag. When will it ever go out of style? I have no idea. But I do know that it serves me in way too many ways through out my everyday life for me to give it up.
Do you have one accessory that you just can’t live without, regardless of what’s trending? Let me know in the comments.

April showers bring May flowers!
When it comes to spring fashion, anything bright, floral, flowy, or all three is acceptable.
Rarely have I seen someone wear all black in the spring successfully (although I am tempted to take on that challenge…) because spring is the PERFECT time for bright colors!
That’s my favorite thing about spring fashion.
I am guilty of looking to pair articles of clothing together so they either match or have a good contrast but that can be difficult to do with shirts that have busy colorful patterns. Pairing a flowy shirt that has a colorful pattern (such as the one pictured above) with lighter color jeans is a great way to dress it up without making it look too busy!
During the spring time you can also take the same main color and just sprinkle different tones of it throughout the outfit in accessories. These shoes I tried on with this outfit just for the humor of it, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually liked the way it brought everything together.
What do you find you like the most about spring fashion?
Welcome to Mad Cute Monday! A not so new series I am starting on the blog since this is not the first time I’ve done a OOTD post. I want to exercise the freedom of talking about more than just the outfit I’m wearing (even though I totally LOVE these shoes! Oh, and can we just mention how adorable this strapless blouse is??). On Mad Cute Monday’s there will be an OOTD and with it, Continue reading “3 Ways to Get More Energy “
One year ago, on January 23rd 2016, I published my first blog post.
I can remember the sense of accomplishment and excitement I felt when I hit that publish button. I had rediscovered my long abandoned passion for writing. In blogging, I was hooked on writing all over again. While I didn’t start out the most consistent blogger in the blogosphere (I believe I went 5 months without publishing another post after the first one), I loved posting!…when I knew what to post of course.
My original idea behind this blog (that largely influenced the name) had a lot to do with the hair care niche. I wanted to use the blogging platform to encourage other girls who are hesitant about rocking their natural hair by recording my hair growth journey. It didn’t take long before I realized that I am no hair expert, and still have a long way to go before I am. To this day I am all over the place, still trying new products and methods to use on my hair- most of which are recommended by other bloggers and youtubers. As a result, I decided I wanted The Curly Anomaly blog to do something a little more than talk about hair.
I don’t want this blog to be all about me. Sure, I share with you my personal style and many other life adventures. Instead of you guys solely reading about my life however, I want you to leave inspired, encouraged, and more than that- feeling like you just read a (rather long) text message from a good friend!
To start year 2 of blogging off right, I thought it would be fitting to get to know you lovely people better.<3
I came up with a small survey of 6 questions just to kind of get a feel for who you are and why you find yourself here! All you have to do is just click here:
and spend 2 minutes letting me know a few things about you.
When you’re done, simply comment “Done” letting me know you’ve taken the survey!
