I am in love with the sprinkles of pink I’ve seen in fall fashion lately! I am not obsessed with the color, but I do like to play around with it from time to time. When it comes to casual shoes, I rarely experiment with colors that aren’t neutral however, I have been feeling the need to liberate myself from that box this fall with these adorable pink shoes from Shoetopia!
If you live in Texas, you know the heat doesn’t rest for any season. There are days that feel more season appropriate than others, sometimes even weeks, but the general feel is the same: it’s hot. Continue reading “Pumpkin Patching in the Heat- Wearing Denim”

There is no way on earth I could justify purchasing a pair of $100 sunglasses straight from the internet without physically checking them out first. I don’t care who the glasses are from or how cute they look in the picture, it is just not going to happen.
Since fall is approaching, I figured it’s the perfect time to search for a chic pair of fall sunglasses and found Warby Parker’s variety to be amazing! Luckily, they offer an at home try-on program which gave me the opportunity to see how the glasses I liked would look and feel on me!
How Does It Work?
All you do is pick out 5 pairs of sunglasses you’re interested in trying. If you’re like me, and have a hard time determining what would look good on your face based strictly off of a picture, you can take their frames quiz to get their recommendations. I did heed a few of their personal picks for me based off of my quiz answers, but I decided to try other pairs that I thought looked pretty cool as well!
After you pick out your five, you put in your credit card info (a precautionary. You’re not charged a single cent!) and your address. Once completed, you’re sent an email saying that the glasses are on their way! You are given 5 days to try them out, post on social media to see what your friends think (and if you use the hashtag #WarbyHomeTryOn, the Warby Parker team can comment and tell you which pair they think looks best on you too), and just get a feel for them. Then, on the 5th day you send them right back for free.
My 5 Picks!
After I ordered my sunglasses, it took exactly a week for them to show up at my doorstep and I was super excited when they did! Here are the shades I decided to try (click on the titles to get the prices!):
The first thing I looked at with every pair of these glasses was the quality. I thought for sure I would get at least one with a loose hinge or scratches on the glasses, after all they were sent to me for free. Other than one whose screw seemed a little too tight, they seemed very durable and all were in perfect condition.
These glasses in particular actually made me think that I might have an issue choosing a favorite… Thatcher was one of the ones I chose to just experiment with and I actually really liked it! It doesn’t fit the bill for “fall shades” but I could totally see them being a perfect go-to pair in the winter time!
Jennings, like the rest of the sunglasses, is sold in other colors. One color is “Beach Glass” and the other color is “Whiskey Tortoise” which is the color pattern you see on Madison. I chose “Beach Glass” because the color struck me as a little different and interesting. Sure enough, the color is pretty much my favorite thing about them! Not to mention the fact that they’re perfect for any occasion both casual and formal.
The lenses for these, like Madison, are dark brown. The frame is similar to Madison’s as well but a little less dramatic around the brow line. They are gorgeous and unique all their own.
Can you tell I had way too much fun trying these out?? Sheridan was actually my favorite pair. I love the 70’s-ish look about them and I found they fit me perfectly! Once the 5 days was up, all I had to do was put them back in the box, slap the return label on it, and drop it off at the post office. Overall, the process was fairly simple, fun, FREE, and ultimately gave me the surety I needed to purchase one that would fit me!
Have you ever owned a pair of Warby Parker sunglasses? If not, which pair pictured here do you like the most?
If you read my last post, you know my 20th birthday was not too long ago. In order to throw a little virtual Birthday Party on the blog, I was going to take you guys with me on a little adventure to the past so you could live out my birthday day with me but, I thought it would be fun to do a “Birthday Haul” and show you guys what I got instead!
(P.s. If the store in which an item was found isn’t stated in the item title, I’ve left the name of the store in the caption just beneath the picture!)
Non-Designer Side Shoulder Bag
I was actually pleasantly surprised when I opened this one! I am a huge bargain shopper and everyone in my family knows I have a thing against buying designer handbags. Don’t get me wrong, they can be super cute and sometimes more durable than your typical non designer handbag, but I just can’t bring myself to spend the money knowing that I can either get the same bag at a discounted price online or a similar looking bag sold somewhere else for so much cheaper.
Nonetheless, when these started popping up, I wanted one so bad. Not only because side shoulder bags are my style, but because the look of this one is so versatile. It can be both casual and, thanks to the detachable strap, dressy too.
I never walk out of the house without a pair of earrings on. I don’t know if it’s just me, but they’re kind of a necessity for any and every occasion. Going to the gym? Grab a pair of studs. Going to run some errands? Grab a pair of mini hoops. Etc., etc.
I was super excited when I opened these because not only are they gorgeous, but I had actually been thinking about going shopping for earrings just the week before my birthday! Love the style and color of these!
Michael Kors Zodiac Key Chain (Gag Gift)
This small little box was wrapped in tissue paper, then hidden at the bottom of a full size Michael Kors bag stuffed with more tissue paper. Needless to say, I was laughing when I finally found it, opened it, and realized it was a key chain that wasn’t even related to my zodiac!
After I opened it, my sister told me that all that was available in store was a Sagittarius key chain, but that despite the meaning behind the keychain, it was still cute enough to gift! Truth be told, I’m still debating on whether or not to keep this. Knowing the meaning of it, I would kind of like one made specifically for Leo’s… I’m still deciding… Help >.<
I Don’t Give a Sip Mug & Starbucks Espresso Roast Coffee
I don’t think it’s an obsession, but I probably have accumulated enough mugs to call it a collection. I love the different designs and cute phrases! This mug fits right in. Also, do I have to say anything about the coffee?? I don’t know how many people would view it as a gift, but if you know how much I love coffee… (;
Bialetti Espresso Machine
I have tried making homemade lattes using just about every method possible when it comes to the most important part: the milk frothing. I went from using a jar, to using a french press, to using a frothing wand (that my little brother ended up losing)… It’s safe to say my parents noticed my struggle and decided it was time to lend a helping hand.
So far, I’ve used the machine a few times and I have worked its use into my morning routine. It comes with a steam wand (for milk frothing), a scoop for the coffee (which can also be used as a tamp), and a cup heating surface right on top. I’m not going to lie, having to go through the latte making process with this machine makes me feel like such a barista. I love it!
Burgundy Cropped Jacket
I love everything about this jacket! The picture above doesn’t do it justice. The sleeves are actually made out of a see-through material and it really makes the jacket. The color is a gorgeous burgundy color that, along with the see-through sleeves, makes it perfect for fall nights out.
Hope you guys enjoyed! What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?
As much as I love coffee, I barely frequent coffee shops. I am well aware of how empty my pockets would be if I visited coffee shops as frequently as I crave coffee, so I have learned to make most of the drinks I love at home. When I do go out for coffee, I look forward to the boost of productivity I typically get from the atmosphere. You’re very likely to find someone typing away on a laptop or reading the newspaper. Something about seeing other people in their own zone of focus encourages me to really hone in on my own.
In this small outing to the coffee shop, I wore warmer, more neutral tones. The embroidered off-shoulder blouse just screams vintage, so I paired it with something that would highlight the blouse by being just as vintage looking in the wedges. I love wearing wedges when I know I might have to do some walking but still want to dress it up just a tad more than I would by wearing a typical sandal. Because of the textures and tones in the embroidery, I just had to pair it with some blue jeans and tie it all together with my A1 bag: the classic Brown Cross body bag. When will it ever go out of style? I have no idea. But I do know that it serves me in way too many ways through out my everyday life for me to give it up.

The official first day of summer is fast approaching for some and for others (like those in Texas) it feels as if it’s already here. I feel pretty behind as far as my shopping endeavors go since my closet is completely VOID of key summer pieces.
Typically when I go shopping for summer clothing, I’m scrounging through thrift shop isles or the clothing racks at the mall. This year I’m doing something different, embracing the millennial trend of doing shopping online. Truthfully, with the online shops I’ve found, I don’t think any of the stores I have around me can compare in price or available styles. With that being said, within this post, in the titles of each of the items listed are links to the coolest online shops I know you can find these items at! A lot are on sale for super great prices, so I had to share them with you guys!
The following items are absolute must have pieces in a summer ready wardrobe!
These are perfect for trips to the pool and beach. Not only are they easy to slip on and off but they’re sold in so many cute styles. The crochet scalloped one in particular catches my eye because of the scalloped edges. It’s design is a mixture of vintage and tropical, which I love. Not to mention the fact that white always exaggerates tans. So yeah, I’m planning on grabbing one of these pretty soon.
2. Maxi Dress’s
Maxi dresses can be considered a little formal at times, but in my opinion it’s all about how they’re worn. Since they can be dressed up or dressed down with a simple change of hairstyle or shoes, Maxi dresses can be suitable for various summer occasions. If you search for them online, you’re bound to find several styles (and even colors of the same style) you love.
If you don’t try on a romper at least once during the summer, are you even doing summer right? Rompers can be kind of hard to shop for since there are many different body types and only a small variety that cater to each. Once you find one that has that perfect fit though, it’s an investment worth making!
A no brainer. The beauty of summer is that it’s hot enough to the point that whatever skin you can afford to leave uncovered, you are allowed to leave uncovered. This includes your feet. Summer is sort of an unspoken no-socks season.
5. Summer Hat’s
Straw hats are such a classy touch to a summer outfit. They look amazing paired with a maxi dresses, rompers, and shorts or capris and a nice blouse. Pretty much any summer outfit you can imagine putting together, these hats are the cherry on top to. I couldn’t complete this list without them!
What do you consider a staple summer wardrobe item for you?
There is something about a handbag that accentuates an outfit and makes it look complete. Whether the style is edgy, urban, or classy, as long as the handbag complements it in some color or shape, it adds a cute feminine touch.
The following handbags are the types of handbags I’ve had my eye on for a while but have yet to attain! Behold, my dream handbag shelf:
#1: Cute & Casual Backpack
These super fashionable backpacks classify as handbags now, and I adore them. I love the colors of this particular one, although I could see myself buying an assortment of colors. Pair this with some blue jeans, and it could really dress it up.
#2: Leather Tote Crossbody Bag
Usually I’m not a big fan of the black and brown color combo. This bag is one of the few exceptions. I could definitely see myself using this timeless tote as my daily go-to.
#3: Vintage Backpack
When I first saw this I immediately had googly eyes! I love vintage styled anything so this bag is right up my ally. I can’t resist.
#4: Little Bow Handbag
Out of all the purses on my list, this one I’ve wanted the longest. Dressy or casual, it doesn’t matter. This handbag adds a sophisticated style with a subtle cutesy flare to anything you pair it with.
#5: Artsy Chic
The overall look of this purse is very striking. It’s easy to envision pairing it with an urban looking outfit.
What’s on your handbag wish list?
